# Service Holds on Overdue Accounts: Causes and Resolution

## What happens when an account is overdue?

When an account is overdue, service may be temporarily suspended, placed on hold, or restricted until the outstanding balance has been settled and the account is brought up to date.

## Why is service placed on hold?

Service-related support is controlled at the account level. If the overall customer account remains overdue, service cannot be rendered until the arrears are settled in full, and support decisions are not handled separately for individual devices on the same account.

## How can the service hold be removed?

1. Settle the outstanding balance in full.
2. Ensure the account is brought up to date.
3. Allow the accounts department to remove the credit hold.
4. Once the account is in good standing, service can continue without interruption.

## What if the invoice is under review?

If there is an invoice query, the invoice review should be prioritized so that any outstanding issues can be resolved and the account can be brought up to date as soon as possible.

## What should you do if you need service urgently?

If service is needed urgently, the account must first be brought up to date. Once the arrears are settled and the hold is removed, the service request can proceed.

## How does an overdue account affect support?

An overdue account can affect ongoing support and services across the full account. When the account remains in arrears, support may be restricted until the outstanding balance is resolved.
